Dr Lucy's Sticky Pulled Beef Sliders

This dinner is an absolute sensation and so easy to make. The Blade Roast is an affordable cut of meat and it turns out beautifully in the pressure cooker. 

Dr Lucy's Sticky Pulled Beef Sliders:


  • 150g frozen onions 
  • Approximately 2.0kg blade roast
  • 2 tablespoons Mingle BBQ Lovers seasoning
  • 1/4 cup Lakanto maple syrup
  • Green Jimmy Cakes (for serving)


  1. Place the frozen onions at the bottom of the pressure cooker.
  2. Rub the blade roast with the Mingle BBQ Lovers seasoning.
  3. Place the seasoned roast on top of the onions in the pressure cooker.
  4. Pour the Lakanto maple syrup over the roast.
  5. Seal the pressure cooker and cook on high pressure for about 90 minutes or until the beef is tender and easily shredded.
  6. Once cooked, shred the beef using two forks, mixing it with the flavourful juices in the pressure cooker.
  7. Serve the pulled beef on Green Jimmy Cakes.

Green Jimmy Cakes:


  • 4 eggs
  • 2 cups grated cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup firmly packed spinach


  1. In a blender, combine the eggs, grated cheddar cheese, and firmly packed spinach.
  2. Blend until you have a smooth batter.
  3. Heat a non-stick pancake maker
  4. Pour a portion of the batter into each well in the pancake maker, being careful not to overfill.
  5. Cook using instructions from the pancake maker until set and not sticking (approx 3-5 mins)
  6. Repeat until all the batter is used.

Assembling the Sliders:

  1. Place a generous amount of the sticky pulled beef onto a Green Jimmy Cake.
  2. Repeat for the desired number of sliders.
  3. Optionally, you can add additional toppings like lettuce, pickles, tomato, sauerkraut, cheese or Mingle bbq sauce
  4. Serve and enjoy your Dr Lucy's Sticky Pulled Beef Sliders!
