Chilli Con Carne - Cooking, Coaching & Conversations with Dr Lucy Burns

This week on Cooking, Coaching and Conversations, Dr Lucy shared some fabulous tips on how to make your life easier and also made a quick chilli con carne. It can be helpful to use subscription services and online grocery shopping to ensure you have low carb real food readily available at home. If you have nutritious ingredients at home, you can quickly and easily whip up delicious family dinners using our build a plate formula - prioritise protein, add some non-starchy vegetables and a little fat & seasoning for flavour.


  • butter
  • beef mince (ground beef)
  • mushrooms, chopped
  • capsicum, chopped
  • passata
  • Mingle Seasoning 'Chilli Con Carne' sachet
  • salt


  1. Heat a large frying pan or pot on the stove and add the butter and minced beef.
  2. Cook the mince, breaking it up with a spatula or wooden spoon.
  3. Add the capsicum and mushrooms and stir to combine.
  4. Add the passata, Mingle Seasoning sachet and some salt. Stir and continue to simmer.
