We are Dr Lucy Burns and Dr Mary Barson, experienced medical doctors and weight loss experts based in Australia.
We have both been overweight, metabolically unwell, and felt helpless and unable to shift our excess weight. We have both lost and gained weight over years and years of the dieting cycle, but we are pleased to say that between us we have lost 30 kgs (66 lbs), and most importantly, kept it off.
We achieved this by discovering the power of eating low carb, real food, and truly understanding the science of weight loss.
Together, we founded Real Life Medicine to share our knowledge and live our passion of helping people lose weight and reclaim their health. We utilise a low carb, real food approach, whilst addressing both the physiology (hormonal causes) and the psychology (mindset) of weight loss. This is done with kindness and compassion, free of guilt and shame.
So what is small group coaching?
It is exactly as it sounds. It is regular meetings with a health expert experienced in coaching.

Coaching is for people who know what they want to do but need help with the implementation.

In this 6 month transformation, we give you the content to understand the physiology. You get "The Doctor's Complet Guide to Low Carb Living", a self paced 4 week course that explains everything you need to do
You will join a live coaching call over zoom each fortnight for 24 weeks. Group coaching is a wonderful tool where you learn from each other. You can have your questions answered, myths busted, and mindset addressed They will be recorded of you miss any.
Behavioural change can be hard, but it's always easier when you have a supportive circle cheering you on, and celebrating every win with you! Small Group Coaching gives you that support.
You will be doing this for yourself, but not by yourself!

We debunk the old myths around calorie counting and why you need to stop calorie restriction if you want permanent weight loss. Whilst we encourage you to exercise as a healthy pastime, it is not necessary or crucial in order to lose weight.
